Doctor's Welcome Letters

My last week in Inuvik Aurora Borealis

And I was in Inuvik last week ... but not without the usual "was important and new to tell ...

First as already told you, I finally saw the famous Aurora Borealis, then I did several walks, walked in a boat, playing squash and work very little jijiji.

Well, I have to explain how things work in the coffee and understand when I refer to different people. Debbie is my boss (though I ordered it), and handling the coffee. Debbie is super nice person, always cheerful and willingly, was also the one I paid the airfares and sent me the truck to Edmonton as long as I stayed a week and could be organized as works 7 days a week 15 hours per day, because it also helps Moe with his other businesses. After this Moe, that is has a stationery store in the same building where the coffee, Moe is the one with the silver, she owns the local coffee and stationery as well as several others, so at the end of the day everything is up to Moe. The catch is that Moe has a very special character and usually does not like anyone, but do not despair that I love the poor had no choice but to love me, I think I have another Canadian jjijijij grandmother.

also work in coffee Elizabeth (Liz), Scott, Andrea, Khandro, Kathleen and Crystal, they in the front at least for now and in the kitchen are GB, Ruby (which are from the Philippines), Diane, Janet (who is a veteran and no one holds that are about to take) and me.

Besides coffee people are paramedics, Jordan who lives with me, Andrew and Corinne are the other two and the head of Abdullah called them but I have not known for is on vacation. The thing to understand is that Jordan does not take all with Corina, and Andrew walked not fought a few days when I first came but went well when I left.

Then there is Roger, is the alcohol gel, which is a Civil Engineer and spent studying and going to the gym and two of three listed at home.

Other characters are Joey and Sebastian, they also were among the first I knew, Joey is a cook at the hotel and Sebastian is a waiter in the hotel, Sebastian is the one that went fishing.

Other people I know are nurses in a health center are Constance, Simone (which as far as I began to go out with Jordan, but lack confirmation), Cathro and Sylvie. funny thing is that when you get the three paramedics spent talking about the nurses but the issue is with the hospital, those who work in the health center have no problems.

hope over time to take pictures so they can put faces to names but for now at least you can guide where I talk about people.

Catch of the Day

We had the great idea to swim in Lake Chall looking decoys who were locked up in the rocks but all I did was to die of cold, just have fun for a while

So in my last few days, convinced that Moe took me for a ride Jan l river in one of their boats, and there we went to Moe, Laura (a friend of moe), Cat and Sylvie by Mackenzie River heading north where we were going to climb a hill to see the Mackenzie River Delta that I was told is one of the largest in the world (when not covered with snow and ice). After 45 minutes up the river, where we saw several rafts that trade in the various reserves that are farther north, and many boats with people hunting elk, we reached our destination. Our destination was a hill from which we obtained a good view of the Delta and also collected many wild berries (this time I wrote it LOL). The funny thing was that Cat, Sylvie and I climbed a hill first with intentions to raise one more distant to which Moe and Laura headed for entry, but for various terms up the more difficult the more difficult and when we got to the top we see that Moe and Laura were almost on top of each other, but the good news was when we crossed a few shrubs could get to where Moe and Laura were without raising too, so I could take some pictures pretty cute, the thing is that my camera battery was running out but at this point my truck was not in Inuvik and had no charger so I could not take lots of pictures of the trip.

Back from the hike, we ate some brownies that Debbie had prepared and we headed to Inuvik before dark, also was getting quite cold and the boat trip was long but half survived. The interesting thing was the return trip we saw what we here call "sun dog" which is a circular shaped rainbow which apparently means that the climate will change.

Very well deserved picnic after the walk, I go play me at the front because there was no room was cold!!

On the return trip

next day after work, went by ambulance to Cat and to the airport Sylvie because they wanted to walk back to town and I was bored as me join. The trip is 11 km and we did it in a little over 2 hours, the most fun was that Cat had tried it once and gave up after walking 3 hours without even being able to see the airport as well so you can imagine how slow walk jjijijij.

Cat and I, returning from the airport to Inuvik

Sylvie and I arrived in Inuvik after 11 km of walking, imagine what they want with regard to water bottles, The best comment wins a prize jijiji

The detail is that no sooner had we arrived from the walk I went to play squash with Crystal is one that works in the Café and had told me is very good player, I have to admit playing well mostly because I lost the 4 games we play, 9-2, 9-4, 9-7, 10-8, so I know that I can win if I am not so tired because I now know how to play but I know I'll also lose several games but at least it's a worthy opponent. And meanwhile I'll see if we teach them to play Jordan, Andrew and Cat, so I can beat them and keep the ego intact jjijijij.

The idea was to finish the day early and set the bag for my return to Edmonton, but as they are the things in life end up eating homemade cannelloni at home and talking to 4-something in the morning when I could finally take home and sleep half an hour before going to work, luckily Debbie is a genius and it did not work much on Friday because the truth I was in another completely. Apart from that I hurt all the bones and most of the muscles as much exercise in the previous days.

After another short nap after work, assemble the bag and left in an ambulance to the airport, which caught my attention because it has no security, and most people do not even show his identification because know they are attending. Flew to Inuvik Norman Wells, another Indian reservation (I think) and more people wake up. Our next destination was Yellowknife where we had to get down and go through security before flying to Edmonton where I was waiting for Danny and Mira (leos of Edmonton) and then went to eat Chinese food.

China Food After almost could not finish, went to have a "Bubble Tea" which is fruit smoothie or iced tea with cubes of gelatin or tapioca pearls, it is difficult to explain but is very rich.

and finish the night in Bonita playing Wii ....

The next day I headed north to Alberta to visit an acquaintance, but still told me not to use the Route 88 and I gave all indications of how to go, you can imagine driving end of Route 88 The which is why I recommended not to use that route is because they are 170 km of ballast and as a week ago it was raining was very slippery, while the truck was going from side to side road and more than one occasion I nearly go to the shoulder, luckily I did not stay lockout because the way I saw about 15 bears and did not see many cars so if I had lockout would have to wait and see if someone could help me, but finally reaches its destination. Margo lives in La Crete which is a Mennonite colony, although it is not Mennonite, and we toured the city that is very nice and neat, and is also full of churches. On Sunday we went to the church he belongs and Margo caught my attention the fact that there is a pastor or preacher so among parishioners lead the service and are seeking pastors or preachers of other churches to come and participate in service, it was interesting mostly because I like 6 years ago would not mass.

On Monday I returned to Edmonton and visit people in Cobs (bakery where I worked for 18 months before the trip), and on Tuesday I went to Cody, which is the official trip to fix the loss of steering fluid, and the lantern was left burning, but the way we found it had a loss in the radiator so it will also fix that. Big Cody !!!!!!!

and pass Tuesday in Crystal and Earl in Pigeon Lake, where finally the van clean inside and out and now I am about to go quickly to New Newfoundland which is further east than I go in Canada then start my journey back to the west and if I do not go all the time, I will be closer to return to Edmonton to take the plane to return to Inuvik ....

So for the next 5 days I will not do much more than driving, but as it arrives at New Newfoundland and I put them up there again begin travel adventures and more ....

Thanks for reading

Juan
