Welcome to a new civilization
are mistaken who imagine the future as a continuation of recent times. From now on, climate change and rising oil will do differently.
We got used to the easy. We burn oil, gas and coal as if they were infinite and harmless. As a result of this bonanza of the last century, mankind achieved much more than in previous millennia: life expectancy multiplied, we live on the moon Neil Armstrong stepping up to today, stem cells can by-dreaming about something like the immortality. Although it is trivial
deny it, we are experiencing the best time.
But it is hard to imagine a pleasant society without a permanent increase in their "raw product." Oil culture leads us to believe in its continued growth. But if the availability unrestricted energy becomes impossible, and the super-populated planet ends, things will have to think in different terms.
No problem for 100 years, is the day after tomorrow. The changes are occurring: climatic disturbances are intensified and oil will never be given away.
The challenge is to participate in the construction of another culture, a civilization compatible with the new reality. If we are to survive we must take a leap, for example, abandon the "free market" rooted in our animal heritage.
If we do not evolve only a few survive. We must save all the good that we've built and take the opportunity to rule out the undesirable.
We got a single stage. We must play our part, rather than the reality we walked.
