not know that joy and I was nervous when I get to Montreal. There are 180 km from Gatineau, and past experience that was more or less the distance that the truck was given for shutting down. And not so much the problem that will go off again, but the last 15 kms before reaching Montreal, becomes Highway 3 or 4 lanes and no place to stop if you break the truck traffic unbarred and above was a huge traffic jam about 10 minutes I was moving around to a crawl, and every little sound unusual to the engine and I saw me locked in the highway, with hundreds of cars behind me, having to pay for the crane as use all my free calls ... but no, the truck continued marching anyway. I hope that means that mechanical problems were completed for a while at least.
But leaving behind mechanical problems, the problems of driving so far had been handled very well with mostly because I run routes and the few times that happened for some people passed through the main street which is also the route and in the few cities I've driven the streets are wide and there is not much traffic, but this is not the case of Montreal, no sir, Montreal has not only much, much traffic, but the vast majority of streets are arrows and if this were not enough, as While the city is European style, the streets are very narrow and the truck not too thin to say, so you can imagine that over a finite pull out there. And to top it the people of Montreal handled quite aggressive so I had to go putting the weight and size by using the truck to move in traffic. Thank God there were no accidents or even a near miss, even if there were a couple of toots jijijiji.
And ta, in Montreal I went to meet with Kym, a girl I met in Inuvik, she is a native of Montreal, and has lived all over and as he was visiting his parents before going to Vancouver study, we were to meet. I retrieved the center of the city and then took me to the Olympic Stadium in Montreal organized when the Summer Olympics. The stadium has been a major headache for the city and recently finished paying but more interesting is that we are talking about to demolish it and build something different but do not know what happened with that issue.

In the same area of \u200b\u200bthe stadium, there is a football stadium but it is very small because this sport is becoming popular recently, a botanical garden, an insectary, and a bio-sphere. In the botanical garden was an exhibition of Chinese lanterns and other interesting things to see but when we went at night to see if we could go we had no place to park, we ended up parking far away we got back on the subway but once we the garden the queue was so big that we turned as if we could get we would not have more than 20 minutes to leave because closed early. So we will wait to see if the return I can go to that exhibition.
After the stadium, we went to Old Montreal area where the harbor and the buildings were government offices in the early days of the city. The area is beautiful, full of small cafes and restaurants, art galleries and some other stores give a particular charm to this area.

After the port, went to "Mount Royal" which is a hill that everyone calls him mountain in which there is a nice balcony that has a beautiful view of the city. As it was dark, the city gave us a beautiful view and according to Kym told me, the view was not complete because not long ago closed a Shell refinery that brought flames to their big night landscape of Montreal.

Kym's parents live outside of Montreal so again with all the nerves go through the highways out of town but again the truck behaved and took us to the destination.
Saturday morning, I reported that we were going to an apple orchard to pick apples, I worried because I thought I would do work because I was told was known about them. But hey if that's what I played, I could not shrink .... Do not tell me I'm lazy that in a few days I'm going to Inuvik to work so these are my holidays and I have the right to do nothing jjijijij.
But when we arrived, that joy, the garden is a tourist garden where people go and buy a bag and harvest your own apples, and have a restaurant and sell local products and things that they do, also have farm animals and tables for people to sit down to eat or hang out. Actually very nice place, the place you logo is a man stuck in a pack, very nice, the food was great because they had a season to try out products and really delicious. And when it came time to harvest, just get up to 5 kg of apples, Kym will get up because I was a photographer jijiji. There are several types of apples and had to prove which was richer so while Kym was carrying the ladder and climbed the trees I was taster ate, apples, Macintosh, Scala, Lobo and gold, luckily the trees had the initial letter of the type that were painted on the trunk in order to know what were eating.

In the orchard of apples, we headed to "The Oratoire Saint Joseph du" which is a very beautiful church is on the other side of Mount Royal ". We reached the foot of the church and after many stairs we entered, is huge !!!!! And it has a pipe organ of those very old and apparently still play every Sunday. But what caught my attention was that the sides of the main altar had what appeared to be representations of the Apostles, 12 wood sculptures with names, but we could never understand why one I had two heads, and below this were the names of Peter and Paul. So I leave for free interpretation ....

After the tour of the church, went to a must-see in Montreal, a traditional bagel bakery. Kym is devoted to Fairmont as it seems that there are two most important houses and people really take very seriously the issue of bagels, to the extent that the bakery is open 24 hours. With bagels and cream cheese we spent the afternoon in a very nice park. This was the day we attempted to go to the botanical garden but we ended up wasting 3 hours for nothing, so to cheer the spirit went to the second stop for Montreal, poutine eating !!!!!!! Poutine is a dish typical of the area consisting of potatoes Quebec chips, cheese and gravy. But in this place we went is called "pack ice" have 30 different flavors of poutine, and also is open 24 hours. I ate poutine and smoked meat from Montreal, and Kym sent a poutine with red peppers, onions and mushrooms. The place was packed and Kym did not let me take a picture of poutine so I have to search google if you want to see what I mean jjijijij.
Happy with the bagel!
not forget the cream cheese

Sunday was a day lazy breakfast we got up late and later still, and since Kym had a baptism of a friend, I went alone to the city to a park where summer meets a lot of people to play musical instruments, mostly percussion, but there were guitars and horns, and like any place where meeting people, had sales of food, beverages and handicrafts. As the day was "cold" had not told many people and probably the last of this season, I say that the day was cold because I was in bermuda short sleeve and all other people with their winter jackets, scarves, hats and gloves, I do not know how they do in the winter ... and there in the park I met Evan, a boy who worked at the bakery in Edmonton during the summers and studying in Montreal, with Evan went for a walk for a while and then I took the third place we had to go to say he had been in Montreal, I speak now? In Schwarzenegger's !!!!! Jewish is a little restaurant that is famous for its smoked meat sandwiches. While there are several more in Montreal this is the original and the problem is that the current owner and holder of the recipe does not descended so it seems that when he dies veteran dies the recipe with him. Basically it is a spicy smoked pastrami, known as the Montreal Smoked Meat, (which is what I provide to my poutine) and apparently is very famous.
With the drums in the park, the cans does not hurt ....
With Evan we went to eat a sandwich, and apparently the tradition is to make a cherry coke with the sandwich that we did. Hence return home Kym's parents.

These are bicycles (bicycles trixi are called) to put the city for public use, you must pay a fee of $ 70 dollars per year and give you a code with which you and unlock the bike, then use it all the time you want and when finished leave it in one of the many posts like this that are all over the city. The bike has 3 gears and lights and although they are comfortable to walk are very heavy so that people do not take them home. I think there is a time limit that you can use a bike without ever leaving one of the stations so that people do not stay home the whole day, but it is a daily limit. They also have people going from station to station making sure the bikes are in good condition for use. Montreal Okay!!
On Monday morning, after a good bath and a better breakfast I said goodbye to the family and continued my journey eastward. The idea is to Prince Edward Island and walk for a couple of days before going to New Newfoundland, who are still trying to fix roads and bridges Igor the hurricane destroyed about 10 days ago.
