Leaving Prince Edward Island I headed towards what I had set as a target before returning to Inuvik. I speak of New Newfoundland. The good thing as I had told the Prince Edward Island is its size, being the youngest of all Canadian provinces. But the other two provinces that separated me from my destiny, not very big either so she was about to arrive, I could not believe it, after more than three months since I left Edmonton, and after many adventures and travels, and many people in my way, and even "losing" two weeks fixing the truck, is finally one day drive from Ocean Atlantic. The truth that I have to say I was quite proud of my little achievement. More because there was still back to Edmonton to spend the winter in Inuvik and then back to the van and start heading south ....
But as has become customary in the trip, every time I have a plan this seems not to want to consolidate, because when the port where the ferry leaves to take me to New Newfoundland, the only means of transport which could cross with the van, I learned that after the storm caused by Hurricane Igor, one of the ferry had been damaged and the others were fully booked until October 21, channnnnn!! Luckily at that second I had no idea what day it was at that point and did not give me time to realize I was going to be flying to Inuvik on 24, but I punctured the bubble right away when I said "today is 7, meaning that the next reserve available in about 2 weeks, "all while I watched the map in the truck. I trying to appeal to some vestige of luck that walked free out there, asking if there was some way to go before, thinking maybe someone could cancel or that there was another boat only to people who were afraid to ask ... But no, no luck, no more ships than the ferries, and the issue was they were going through a lot of trucks with materials to rebuild roads and infrastructure damaged by the hurricane. And there was a waiting list in case someone canceled, so I decided that this year would not go to New Newfoundland, and maybe next year ... try again. Because I would not spend 2 or 3 days waiting to see if I could pass.
comes the time to make new plans, options, visit Nova Scotia and begin my return to the West, or call the parents of the girlfriend of one I met in Edmonton in the practices of the boats. It turns out that Kathleen, the day I took a farewell in Edmonton, said that if passed by Dartmouth in Nova Scotia, a city where parents live, and if he wanted his parents had no problem give me shelter. So after more than 3 months of the offer in case the call to see if I could go take a shower and maybe sleep in a bed a bit more comfortable than the truck and hopefully a free meal jijijiji link.
But when I call I hear that they gladly let me stay at his house, but ... .... They were going to a wedding this weekend and has just returned home on Sunday afternoon .... Another channn ...
So I decided to go due north into the province of Nova Scotia, where the Cape Breton National Park. Once in northern Nova Scotia, park the truck in a parking lot on the road, as it was night and it was raining I went to bed immediately. The next morning when I woke up I really realized where I was. It turns out that was parked in front a beach in the in the Atlantic, and was also the beginning of a walk that led to a small town and that was by the ocean. The fact that the place was very nice, but the detail was raining all that was passed on Friday, worse. It rained for 30 min and stopped by 10 and the sun came up but when I was preparing to leave for the walk would take me about three hours, turned to rain. So I spent all day Friday locked in the truck, reading a book, watching the waves breaking on the shore and especially watching people get in their cars, take a photo and move on. And I realized that despite having my days before returning to Inuvik, I still could take my time to spend all day sitting in the same place doing nothing and enjoying the journey. And I wonder if these people who was on holiday actually come to rest, it seems that even rental people can stop and really appreciate the world around them, it seems that everyone is always in a hurry and trying to get somewhere, cutest when travel is not reaching the destination but the journey in itself, but believe me look at me that I have Uruguay as a destination to reach but in 4 months that I travel, I am actually further from when I started jijijiji. But do not despair that it'll come ....
So I move on Friday, Saturday, the weather finally allowed me to do but walk the walk in the rain for the first hour and then another 10 minutes later but well worth it. The views were very nice and it was worth the wait.
After the walk, I finally swim in the Atlantic, all who were in the parking lot looking at me like I was crazy, but really the water was rather warm, not cold at all gave me. Although I only bath for a few seconds, but now I can say I went from ocean to ocean and I dived into the waters of both.

After the swim, I started my way south, with the idea of \u200b\u200bgetting to Halifax and spend Sunday exploring the city waiting for my new hosts. But it turns out that people in Nova Scotia are at least as bad driving me, because for many more the path is full of curves and can not pass and although the speed limit was 90 km / hr I had to follow several vehicles to 60 km / hr for many kms and the worst was when they tried to pass me and tried to pull over and declined more if that is possible, but the road being so close did not leave much room to pass without encroaching into the opposite lane and twisty I do not want to risk but is that other drivers did not realize that could not happen in those conditions and then narrow straight where maybe I could pass gave way and even accelerated slightly, just enough so that I could not pass, so it was that led me to 400k 6 hours!! I wanted to kill me, a plunger of the cookies, and I thought I was the slowest car on Canadian roads and the driver but also jijiji.
But in the end arrive at Halifax, it was late so I spent the night in the parking lot of Wal-Mart. On Sunday I woke up late and took a tour of Halifax but true that many people did not see nothing interesting in the city or at least not for me.
In the afternoon call Larry and Lucile and gave me directions to get home. Upon arrival I was greeted as if they knew me from a lifetime, until I got a copy of the house key. The truth that Larry and Lucile treated me like a king, thank god this has been a constant all the people who helped me one way or another during the trip and I am very pleased and grateful to everyone, and gave me a geography lesson of Nova Scotia, commenting on the places you should visit and things that had to do. So after a rich dinner, we went to sleep. Preparing for the next day was Thanksgiving Day and for which I was invited to spend with his family to noon they were going to celebrate with great food as usual. So on Monday we had a great lunch with the family and what a great time.
After a hearty meal, and Lucile Larry took me to Lawrencetown Beach, which is very popular for surfing. And where we saw a couple of dozen people practicing the sport. The evening was very nice and had a great time. On Tuesday already had my plans, rather already had plans for the entire week I was staying.
Lucile, roast pork and vegetables for dinner, yummy!!
To start my time at Dartmouth which is really where the house where I was staying, I went to a dragon boat practice with a group that practiced in the lake which is near the house. The small detail is that people take much more seriously than we in Edmonton, and so I met a group of people who like final practice as they were about to pull the boats of aguan before will begin to freeze the river, paddled 40 minutes without stopping, and since I had never rowed more than 5 minutes without stopping in Edmonton practices, I found the following 3 days more than half of the muscles in my body were either sore or cramped jijiji, but it was worth and what a great time.
starting Tuesday by going to the south east of the province, visiting Cape Peggy, who is well known for its lighthouse and the rock formation that is characteristic of wear caused by glaciers many thousands of years ago ...

From Cape Peggy, I went to the town of Lunenberg, which is home to the "Bluenose II "which is a replica of the" Bluenose "which was a fishing schooner that won many races in the 20 'and 30' and is inscribed on the coins of 10 cents Canadian. The most striking thing is that the "Bluenose" original towards the end of his days was sent to Haiti, where it sank during a storm. And while the replica can be accessed at the port of Lunenberg, it turned out that when I went to the city were taken to restore the schooner and the process is going to take about 10 months so I had to make do with seeing a model
scale model of the "Bluenose"
The" Bluenose "Queen of the North Atlantic fishing fleet, was a schooner of 285 tons, designed by William J. Roue of Halifax, and constructed with materials of Nova Scotia by Smith and Rhuland in Lunenberg. Sailing for the first time in 1921, "she" won the trophy "Herald", International championship trophy emblematic of the fishing fleet . Invicta in its native waters, defended his title in 1922, 1923, 1931 and 1938, becoming a symbol of national pride. After having acquired a reputation as a working schooner, the "Bluenose" was destroyed and lost in Haiti in 1946.

Back to the home of Larry and Lucile, I found out that they and tradition with the family gathered Wednesday night to eat pasta, so I offered to cook my homemade noodles known and some homemade pizza too as we were, and the funny thing was that after having to insist that there was no hassle and rather was a pleasure to cook, I said they were going to have to send another email to tell everyone that they expected a special meal and we went from being maybe 4 or 5 to 12 people for dinner ... but good food I am very rich at least that's what everyone told me.
But before moving on to Thursday, I have to tell them what I did on Wednesday. On Wednesday I decided to go to the middle east. Passing the house of Cindy and James (James's brother Larry and his wife Cindy is) they live in a lakeside home where Cindy has a lot of cocks and hens of various species, some quite common but several called me much attention.
Roosters, hens and chicks in the house of James and Cindy
After the visit to the home of Cindy and James, I left a beach called Clam Harbour, where walk a while and I lit another fire and stay a while enjoying the view and sea breeze and the sun all that safe I will miss him in the Arctic ....
Clam Harbour Beach
After Clam Harbour, I went to another beach at Taylor Head, another national park . And on to the home of Larry and Lucile to cook for everyone.

After an hour and a half to cook pasta and pizza sauce with vegetarian option because there were two vegetarians in the party. We all sat down to enjoy a family dinner and had a great time.
Pizza, pasta and good conversation or n. ..
Well as you may have noticed I'm half lazy to post stuff to blog, but you'll see that been on the run and many hours driving and since I came to Inuvik, I've been busy catching up and working hard , so I'll end their stories of Nova Scotia and the rest of the trip to Inuvik in a few days.
Thanks for reading
Juan
